ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must:
Must be a current STEM student at Las Positas College enrolled in at least 6 units, and
must be continuing enrollment at Las Positas next year
Must demonstrate academic excellence in a STEM-related field with a current GPA of
3.0 or higher
Must submit a complete scholarship application and required attachments by the posted
deadline
SELECTION PROCESS / CRITERIA
LPC STEM faculty selection committee will review the applications and choose recipients
based upon the following criteria:
Overall LPC GPA (3.0 or higher)
GPA in science courses (3.0 or higher)
Breadth of major-related coursework
Priority granted to students who are the first generation in their family to attend college
APPLICATION PROCESS
Attach to your LLNL STEM Scholarship application form the following:
1. unofficial transcript (may provide a print-out from Class Web or unofficial transcript
from Admissions)
2. 1 letter of recommendation from an LPC faculty member
3. Submit an essay on “Why do you want to pursue your STEM career?”
(Maximum 1 page)
Complete applications, including recommendations, must be submitted directly to the
Financial Aid Office by April 18, 2019, 10:00 pm. Applications may be left in the After-
hours drop-box near the Financial Aid side entrance door after hours. Applications left at
the Information Desk on the first floor WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Recipients will be invited to the LPC Annual Scholarship Ceremony on May 16, 2019.
All Applicants will be notified by email whether they have been selected or not
