Kay and Jerry Jessen
FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP
The Kay and Jerry Jessen Family Scholarship was established as a gift by Kay
Osborne Jessen. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist women in pursuit
of furthering their education. The scholarship is awarded on an annual basis if
a qualified applicant is selected.

Eligibility:
1. Applicant must be full-time female student pursuing a degree.
2. The scholarship is designed to financially help a non-traditional student.
3. Applicant must be currently enrolled at LCCC as an undergraduate student and
must have completed at least one full-time semester of college (12 or more credit
hours). Nursing students will be considered full-time at 11 credit hours.
4. The student shall have or maintain a 2.5 grade point average.
Application Requirements:
1. Applicant must submit entire completed application and an official student copy
of transcript.
2. Applicant must include an autobiography of 1 page. Attach a short description
of yourself. Please describe how you plan to finance your education and why
you want to continue your education. Include such things as honors received for
school or community service. List any affiliations with organizations that you
would like us to know about. If you have any other achievements or any unusual
circumstances that might give you special consideration, please include for
review by the selection committee.
3. All materials must be received by the Financial Aid Office at LCCC no later than
May 1.
4. Application must include two letters of recommendation from non-family
members.
Selection Criteria:
1. Finalist for this scholarship will be selected and will be interviewed prior to final
determination of award. Notification of interviews will take place prior to July 1.
2. The selection of this scholarship is made by the Scholarship Committee, P.E.O.
Chapter Z. Selection is based on the information provided by applicant.
Allocated Amount:
1. The allocated amount of the scholarship will be awarded in the fall semester.
