ATTENDANCE POLICY
Regular and punctual attendance is expected of all students in order for them to achieve their potential in class
and to develop desirable personal traits necessary to succeed in employment. Since course content and teaching
methods vary, each instructor will determine his/her own requirements for attendance. Attendance
requirements for each class will be printed in the course syllabus, which will be distributed the first week of class.
Class attendance is calculated from the first scheduled class meeting to the last. Late arrivals and/or early
departures may count total absences. If a student is dropped by an instructor due to absence, a grade of "WF"
will be issued and calculated in his/her grade point average. The student must obtain the permission of the
instructor to re-enter class. If this request is denied, the student may petition the Dean for reinstatement. If the
Dean denies the request the Vice President of Instruction will make the final ruling on the decision.
