BUILDING PERMIT SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING IN ADDITION TO CHECKLIST:

ALL GENERATOR SPECIFICATIONS MUST SHOW NFPA 37 TESTING APPROVAL.

Show setbacks to property lines. 5.0 FEET MINIMUM DISTANCE TO ALL
STRUCTURES. EXCEPTION: UNITS INSTALLED IN FIREPROOF CABINETS
MAY BE INSTALLED TO MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATION. Must be located as
per setback requirements in the Code of Northport
Chapter 306, Zoning Section 306-23, Accessory Structures.
GENERATOR MUST BE LOCATED BEHIND REAR BUILDING LINE OF
HOUSE. CANNOT BE IN FRONT OR SIDE YARD.
Generator must be located so it does NOT exhaust into neighboring properties.
If property is in High Impact Zone (within 1 mile of Northport harbor), generator must
Be anchored to the ground. Proposed anchoring detail must be submitted.
Contractor’s insurance certificates naming Village as additionally insured.
Electrician’s insurance certificates naming Village as additionally insured.
Electrical inspection/certificate by approved electrical inspection agency at completion.
Fee will be determined upon application review.
PLUMBING PERMIT SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:
Schematic showing gas lines, location of generator and any other gas appliances.
Top of pipe minimum depth 18” & include tracer wire & tape with flexible gas line.
Gas Load letter must be submitted & state if a meter upgrade is required.
If new services, meter load must be indicated.
PLUMBER MUST HAVE A TOWN OF HUNTINGTON OR SUFFOLK COUNTY
MASTER PLUMBER’S LICENSE.
Plumber’s insurance certificates naming the Village as additionally insured.
Fee will be determined upon application review.

1. APPLICATION: completely filled out including name of owner, address of
premises, nearest cross street address of owner if different, plumber license number, address & phone
number.
- indicate the BUILDING PERMIT #, if applicable, in space provided.
- indicate in the boxes provided the fixtures being installed. Be sure that every item of plumbing work is
included to avoid needing to amend the permit later.

notarized. If the plumbing work is existing, or done by the resident homeowner the homeowner must sign and
have notarized.
NOTE: Gas Installation is to be done (and signed for) by a Huntington Licensed Plumber only!

Plumbing Permit # will be assigned after completion of the above. A copy of the Plumbing Permit is provided
the plumber (or Homeowner, if applicable. No work is to start until Permit is issued.
The owner shall indemnify and hold the municipality harmless and defend against any claim of liability or loss including the cost of
defense for personal injury or property damage resulting from or arising directly or indirectly out of or resulting from the permit holders
operations within the municipality, including losses arising out of the negligent acts or omissions of the contractor, its servants or
agents, and any subcontractors, its servants or agents
