An inspection and clean‐up should be scheduledannuallytoremovetrashand floatablesthataccumulateinthe
pre‐treatment cells and filter bed. Frequent sediment cleanouts in the dry and wet s
edimentation chambers are
recommendedevery2‐3yearstomaintainthefunctionandperformanceofthefilter.Ifthefiltertreatsrunofffrom
ahotspot,crewsmayneedtotestthefilterbedmediabeforedisposingofthemediaandtrappedpollutants.Ifthe
filter does not treat runoff from a hotsp
ot, the media can be safely disposed by either land application or land
filling,withoutpriortesting.
Warning: If the filtering facility has a watertight cover; be careful regarding the possibility of flammable gases
withinthefacility.Careshouldbetakenlightingamatchorsmokingwhileinspectingfacilitiesthatarenotvented.
If the filtering facility is in a completely enclosed vault

followed.
