ED Pondsoften become soggy,and water‐loving tees such as willows may invade and will need to be managed.

Periodicmowingofthestormwaterbufferisonlyrequiredalongmaintenancerights‐of‐wayandtheembankment.

The remaining buffer may be mana

ged as a meadow (mowing every other year) or forest. Frequent removal of

sedimentfromtheforebay(every5‐7years,orwhen50%oftheforebaycapacityisfilled)isessentialtomaintain

thefunctionandperformanceoftheEDPond.SedimentsexcavatedfromEDPondsareusuallyno
