2017/2018 Professional Judgment Appeal
Students may experience circumstances that require us to base their nancial aid on current
income, rather than the 2015 income used on the 2017/2018 FAFSA. This is usually due to one of
the events listed below. If you have extenuating circumstances not addressed on your 2017-2018
FAFSA, you must rst meet with a nancial aid counselor and then complete this form.
Step 1 Complete Verication
Before proceeding with the Professional Judgment, you must complete 2017/2018 verication (if not already completed).
Log on to Self Service in myHCC to view the required documents. Once 2017-2018 verication is complete, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2 Describe Your Circumstance
Check the box below that describes your circumstance, and attach the required documentation.
□ Death of parents or spouse after ling the 2017/2018 FAFSA.
