Dear Building Official,
In accordance with the provisions set forth in Secs.105.12 (Broward Amendments) which states:
“Upon prior written approval of the Building Official, the scope of work delineated in the building permit application and
plans may be started prior to the final approval and issuance of the permit, provided any work completed (including
exploratory uncovering of concealed structural elements of existing buildings for design information) is entirely at risk of the
permit applicant and the work does not proceed past the first required inspection.” we request approval to start work
prior to final approval and issuance of the above referenced permit.
The Property Owner,_________________________________________, asserts that all work performed
by its Contractor,_________________________________________ will be performed as represented on
the plans submitted with the application and in accordance with the Florida Building Code, that where
fire alarm and/or sprinkler system exists, they shall remain in service as required by the code, and that
any violations of this agreement shall result in immediate revocation. (Scope of work prior to issuance of
permit is attached) Upon revocation of this agreement all work shall cease until issuance of the approved
permit. It is understood that the Florida Building Code may require changes to the submitted plans. In
the event that the permit application expires, becomes null and void, the General Contractor shall restore
the work to a safe condition subject to the Building Official and Fire Marshal’s approval. The Property
Owner and Contractor agree to indemnify and hold harmless Broward County, its employees and agents
from any action or responsibility for damages resulting from the approval to commence work.
