Grad Act Tuition Increase
Waiver Application - 2019-2020
Louisiana GRAD Act fee: All students are required to pay the five (5) percent GRAD (Granting
Resources and Autonomy for Diplomas) Act annual increase approved by the Louisiana Legislature in
2010. This fee may be waived in cases of financial hardship
The specific criteria to qualify to apply for this waiver are on the reverse of this form. If you meet the
qualifications and decide to submit this application, it must reach the Financial Aid Office by the close of
business on the last scheduled day of official schedule changes of the regular semester in which the
student first enrolled for the year.

Grad Act Tuition Increase
Waiver Program
2019-2020
Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) has established a fee waiver program to provide limited,
partial tuition assistance to its most needy students who have utilized all available federal financial
aid programs and still have significant unmet financial need resulting from the Legislative approved
Grad Act tuition increase. Students who meet all of the following conditions may apply for a waiver
to cover the tuition increase for up to 2 semesters; Fall 2019 and Spring 2020.
Eligible students must submit their fee waiver application to the Financial Aid Office no later than
the close of business on the last day of official schedule changes of the semester in which the student
first enrolled for the year. Students who do not meet the submission dates will have their waiver
applications considered for future semesters except in the spring since there is no future eligible
semester.
Students eligible to apply must:
1. Be a resident of Louisiana for fee purposes.
2. Have applied for federal financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) and have requested all types of federal assistance excluding PLUS loans.
3. Have a valid record on file in the BPCC Financial Aid Office reflecting an annual Expected
Family Contribution (EFC) of less than $300 at the time the request is submitted.
4. Have accepted all forms of federal financial aid offered in their award letter, excluding
PLUS loans and whose tuition and fees are not covered, or covered fully, by another source
of financial assistance such Pell, TOPS or other grants.
5. Be in good standing at BPCC. May not be on academic probation or suspension.
6. Meet all federal financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress policy standards for receipt of
federal financial aid.
7. Not be in receipt of another form of fee exemption or waiver.
8. Not have tuition paid by an institutional, state or external agency or scholarship program.
