Affidavit of Financial Support for International (F-1) Student Applicants v. 9/30/19
In order for an I-20 (F-1 visa document) to be issued, international students and/or their sponsors must provide evidence
of $23,000 (plus $5000 for each dependent) available to financially support themselves and their dependents for the first
year of study at Durham Technical Community College. If the student has a financial sponsor, this affidavit must be signed
by the sponsor and stamped or sealed by a notary public, bank official, or individual authorized to certify documents. An
original letter with an official signature on bank letterhead or an official bank statement must also be submitted along
with this document. Documents should verify a current account balance and whether the account is in good standing. A
currency conversion to US Dollars is required for all accounts in foreign currency (either from the bank or from a currency
conversion website). If the student has more than one financial sponsor, complete a form for each sponsor.
