Guidelines for Faculty Parking
Faculty is defined as members of Collective Bargaining Unit 3 and volunteer professors.
Parking of motor vehicles on the California State University Channel Islands campus is
regulated in accordance with Section 21113 (a) of the California Vehicle Code,
Sections 42200 and 42201 of Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations.
All parking registrations applications for faculty must be completed in their entirety
(including name, contact information and vehicle information) and must be submitted
to Police and Parking Services when the faculty member purchasing the permit is either
making changes to their address and/or vehicle information or when a faculty member
purchasing the permit has not filled out an application in the past.
Parking permit applications are subject to being denied for the following reasons:
The requestor is not a verified CSU Channel Islands faculty member with the
University’s Human Resources Department
The requestor is classified as a teacher’s assistant with the faculty department
If the application is approved, Police and Parking Services will assign a Faculty parking
permit to the applicant. If the faculty member chooses to be put on payroll deduction,
our staff will provide the applicant with additional paperwork which our office will then
submit to the State Controller’s office. Vehicles displaying a F (Faculty semester,
Academic Year or Annual), permit, may park in any unmarked or “Faculty” stalls in the
A1-A11parking lots on campus. Failure to park in the specified areas that this permit
pertains to or failure to abide by the campus parking rules and regulations may result in
a parking citation.
Any faculty applicant found lending, transferring or selling their permit to another
person will be in violation of Section 11.14 of the CSU Channel Islands Parking
Regulations. This action may result in a parking citation being issued and/or other
corrective measures including criminal prosecution.
If you have any additional questions in regards to the application or the parking
guidelines for faculty permits, please call (805) 437-8430 or visit our main office located
in Placer Hall.
