Vocabulary
Course contains a prescribed number of modules to provide detailed instruction to support mastery of a
larger topic
Internet and Video Resources is a document that contains links to websites that relate to a topic or lesson
within Unique Learning System; this list is available so that teachers may give this to the district/school
technology coordinator if Internet sites are typically restricted for a classroom.
Module an organized collection of content presented together to address specific learning objective
supporting the overall concepts from the course. Each module links to specific teaching standards, learning
objectives and opportunities for the learner to engage with the content. An assessment of what is learned is
included with each module.
n2y Library searchable database containing over 1,000 leveled books on a variety of topics available as an
iDoc offering text-to-speech capabilities, or as a printable PDF; each book includes a communication board
to aide in comprehension and communication.
n2y Link details the connection between the monthly Unique Learning System content and the News-2-
You weekly news topic.
Parent Newsletter communicates to parents and guardians how the month’s unit topic addresses a specific
area in preparing their young adult for independence.
Passport Links is the document identifying corresponding material in the Transition Passport as it connects
to ULS lessons. (found in Monthly Tools, Transition grade band)
Powerpoints Of Leveled/Easy Read Books offers the opportunity to hear the Leveled or Easy Read book
read using a recorded voice.
Printing Guide is part of the Unique Learning System Monthly Tools that lists specific activities in the unit
materials and the PDF page number from the "download all documents"; there is also a column that
provides some suggestions for how to best print these pages of the materials
Reading Observation is a monthly guide to document the student’s reading progress (Elementary through
High School Grade Bands).
Supplemental Reading List is a a rich and thoughtful guide identifying additional reading materials related
to each monthly unit, enables you to build a monthly collection of books to encourage self-selected reading
and provides exposure to monthly theme related topics.
Supply List is part of Unique learning System that provides a composite supply list with materials that a
teacher may need to obtain for literature books, recipes, crafts and science experiments.
