Recommenders: Peer tutors at the SALT Center complete a rigorous College Reading & Learning
Association certified training program that teaches learning theory, learning strategies, and how to
facilitate independent learning. We hire students who are knowledgeable in their subject areas and
possess the qualities of a good tutor – patience, flexibility, creativity, and good communication skills.
