YOUTH ATHLETICS
Youth Athletics are an important part of growing up. It is a right of passage for many young children.
The City of Kannapolis is now oering a youth basketball progam. Basketball, indeed, is a great activity
to t the bill for a growing child. Encouraging children to play basketball at a young age will not only help
them benet from the virtues of a rigorous sport, but will also work as a foundation in staying active later
in life.
There are several benets to playing baskeball. By supporting a player, a team or a league, you will help
a child in the following ways:

Location: Kannapolis City School Gyms
Dates/ Times: Practices begin November, 2019; Games begin January, 2020
Attendance: Estimated start: 100 youth particpants, 10 teams.
Audience: Youth/Families
Activities: Playing basketball helps children learn basic coordination and team-building skills with an
added bonus of making new friends along the way. Getting a child going with basic basketball skills at a
young age not only helps encourage exercise, but serves as a foundation for staying active later in life.
