The Rotary Club of West Pine Bluff is awarding a scholarship in the amount of $500.00 to a deserving
Southeast Arkansas College student. This academic scholarship will be awarded to a current student and
is valid for full-time enrollment (minimum 12 semester credit hours) in a two-year Associate of Applied
Science Degree technical career program or an Associate of Arts Degree academic transfer program. The
recipient must have at least two remaining semesters at Southeast Arkansas College. The scholarship
will be paid directly to Southeast Arkansas College for partial payment of the student’s tuition at the rate
of $250.00 per semester for two semesters. Applications are available in the Financial Aid Office. The
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria are listed below:
Eligibility Criteria
A committee composed of faculty as well as professional and administrative staffs will select the recipient
of the Rotary Club
of West Pine Bluff Scholarship according to the following criteria:
o Current student with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale for the previous Spring Semester and a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
o Commitment to enroll at Southeast Arkansas College as a full-time student during the Fall and Spring
Semesters of the upcoming academic year.
o Student is eligible for federal financial aid
o Is student recognized as a dependent for tax purposes? Circle One: Yes No
o Record of good conduct at Southeast Arkansas College.
o 50 to 100-word essay stating educational goals and reasons for requesting scholarship— specifically financial
need to complete degree at Southeast Arkansas College.
Scholarship Renewal
The SEARK Rotary Club Scholarship is renewable on a semester basis for the Fall and Spring Semesters
of the next academic year for a deserving student enrolled in a two-year Associate of Applied Science
Degree technical career program (4 semesters), or an Associate of Arts Degree academic transfer program
(4 semesters) according to the following guidelines:
• Full-time student status (12 semester hours)
• Satisfactory academic progress of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale during the preceding semester
• No documented disciplinary problems at Southeast Arkansas College
