Interest Groups
• New Members - This group sponsors
activities to help mentor new members.
• Friends and Food - This group meets
once a month for a Sunday evening gathering
at a local restaurant. Spouses and guests are
invited.
• Book Club - This club meets at 7PM on
the first Thursday each month. A different
book or theme is discussed at each meeting,
which is held at member’s homes. Titles
cover a wide variety of genres, including
fiction, nonfiction, literature, chick-lit, young
adult, memoir, historical, graphic novels, self-
help, and more! Members pick titles about
every 8-10 months. Snacks and beverages
(usually wine) are provided by the hostess or
co-hostess.
• Games and Giggles – This group meets
for cards, board games or dice in the evening
or afternoon.
Interest Groups
• Lunch Bunch - A different restaurant
each month provides the setting for an
informal social gathering (days and dates
vary.)
• Theatre - This group meets to attend
productions at WSU and other
productions in Wichita.
• WSU Treasures – Meets monthly, usually
on a Friday evening at 7:00 pm at Larksfield.
WSU scholars, researchers, teachers,
performers and staff – our campus
“treasures” – present and discuss subjects of
their choice. Members, spouses and friends
are invited to attend.
Get Involved
• Committee and volunteer
involvement – help us plan and staff our
events. We are seeking assistance in event
planning, auction item donations and
membership recruitment.
