VETERAN EXEMPTION TO NON-RESIDENT TUITION RATE

Complete and submit this form to your campus admissions and records office prior to the first day of instruction of
the term. Per University of Hawaii Board of Regents Policy RP 6.208 Board Exemptions to Non-Resident Tuition, the
student may be exempted from the non-resident tuition rate if the student is a/an:
(a) Veterans Post-9/11 GI Bill® (chapter 33) or Montgomery GI Bill® Active Duty (chapter 30) education benefits, who lives in
Hawaii, and enrolls at the University within three years of discharge from a period of active duty service of 90 days or
more, OR
(b) Individual using transferred Post-9/11 GI Bill® (chapter 33) education benefits who lives in Hawaii and enrolls at the
University within three years of the transferor’s discharge from a period of active duty service of 90 days or more, OR
(c) Individual using transferred Post-9/11 GI Bill® (chapter 33) education benefits, who lives in Hawaii, and whose transferor
is a member of the uniformed services who is serving on active duty, OR
(d) Individual using Post-9/11 GI Bill® (chapter 33) education benefits under the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry
Scholarship, who lives in Hawaii, and enrolls at the University within three years of the service member’s death in the line
of duty following a period of active duty service of 90 days or more, OR
(e) Individual using educational assistance under the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) (chapter 31)
program and who lives in Hawaii.
