Top 50 Most Unwired College Campuses
Colleges and universities across the country are investing in wireless Internet technology so that
students can stay connected with friends, family, information and entertainment as they move
about the campus. Intel’s 2005 "Most Unwired College Campuses" survey identifies the top 50
college and university campuses in the United States for wireless Internet accessibility.
These survey results show significant improvement over last year, where many campuses were
found with no wireless network deployment. This year, the survey revealed that almost every
campus examined has a wireless network. On average, 98 percent of the top 50 campuses listed
below are covered by a wireless Internet access network.

Note: The survey was sponsored by Intel Corporation and conducted by Bert Sperling, a researcher who specializes
in conducting and analyzing data for the nationally known "Best Places" surveys. Survey findings are based on the
percentage of campus that is covered by wireless technology, the number of undergraduate students and the
computer to student ratio for each school. The study examined all schools ranked in "America's Most Connected
Campuses," conducted by Princeton Review and published in Forbes, as well as schools with student bodies of more
than 1,000 students who participated in an online survey executed in partnership with the Center for Digital
Education. In addition to the online study, data was gathered through university interviews, review of public
documents and additional industry sources. Data was collected and analyzed between May 1 and Aug. 5, 2005.
