Next steps for earning the ABR
®
designation are outlined below. Use this as a checklist.
Be a member in good standing with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
Successfully complete an approved
elective course.
A list of approved electives can be found on
page 2 of 3 of this application.
If you haven’t already completed your elective,
visit training4RE.com to learn about classes
scheduled in your area and for online course
availability.
Complete the enclosed ABR
®
designation application.
The application requires you to list five (5)
closed transactions in which you functioned as a
buyer’s representative.
Send your application to REBAC.
You may e-mail your application to

Alternatively, you may send it to REBAC, 430 N.

Maintain membership with REBAC
and NAR.
The first year of membership with REBAC is
included in the cost of your ABR
®
Designation
Course. Second year dues for REBAC are
prorated based on the month you began your
membership. REBAC dues for the third year and
thereafter, are $110 USD.

For prompt processing of your application:
> Submit your application only after you have met all of the requirements, including completion of
the elective course.
> All of the fields in the application must be completed. Incomplete applications will be returned,
which will delay processing.
After submitting your application:
> Please allow REBAC Member Service Representatives ten business days upon receipt to process
your application.
> As a reminder, you may not market yourself as an ABR
®
designee until REBAC has conferred the
designation to you and notified you in writing.
When your application gets approved:
> When REBAC approves your application, we will notify you by e-mail, after which you may add
ABR® to your credentials and marketing materials.
Active membership with REBAC is required:
> In order to retain the rights to use the ABR® designation, you must maintain your membership with
REBAC as well as with NAR.
> Using the ABR® designation without maintaining membership with REBAC will result in a trademark
violation (Code of Ethics, Article 12). Those individuals in trademark violation will need to
immediately cease from using the ABR® trademark/logos on all promotional materials.

You have 36 months to meet the above requirements. Failure to
complete these requirements within this time frame will
result in having to retake the ABR® Designation Course.
