Introduction:

Apply as a Wings – Adult Education
First Degree student if you are 23

never enrolled in college after gradu-

older and have previously earned a
bachelors degree or will have earned
a bachelors degree prior to enroll-
ment at Meredith.
Apply as a Wings - Adult Education

are 23 or older and have enrolled in
a community or four-year college or
university since graduating from high

Admissions decision notification occurs
on a rolling basis. The admissions office
will begin to accept and review fall
applications in August, and applications
for the spring term will be accepted
and reviewed beginning in June of
the year prior to entry. Decisions are
made within four weeks of receiving a
completed application; however, the
applicant should anticipate receiving
communications from the Office of
Admissions prior to that.

Requirements
Transfer Applicants
To be considered for admission, the
applicant must:
be 22 years of age or younger,
have 30 or more hours of transfer-
rable college coursework with at
least 18 hours that meet General
Education requirements,
have a C or higher in a college trans-
ferable math class at an accred-
ited institution, or have completed
Algebra I, II (or their equivalents) and
Geometry in high school,
have a minimum overall C average
on all courses attempted at post-
secondary institutions,
be eligible to return to the last
institution regularly attended in good
standing and be recommended by
college officials.
Applicants with fewer than 30 transfer-
rable credits at time of application must
meet freshman application requirements
including submission of the SAT or ACT
and official high school transcript(s).
Applicants with more than 30 transfer-
rable credits at time of application
but less than 18 transferable General
Education credits may be asked to
submit their high school transcript and
ACT or SAT score and meet freshman
admission requirements before a deci-
sion is offered on her application.
Wings – Adult Education First
Degree
To be considered for admission, the
applicant must:

Financial Aid
Meredith requires the Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for
all applicants who wish to receive finan-
cial assistance. The priority deadline
is February 15. Applications received
after this date will be considered for
assistance as funding permits. The
FAFSA is available beginning October 1
at FAFSA.ed.gov.
At Meredith College, we recognize
and reward outstanding ability and
talent by sponsoring competitive
scholarship programs. Once you are
admitted to Meredith as a transfer
student, you will be automatically
considered for an Academic Incentive
Scholarship. All other scholarships and
scholars programs require a separate
application.

Essay
We request an essay of at least 250 words on a topic of your choice. Transfer applicants may wish to address
their reasons for leaving their current institution to attend Meredith. Adult students may address their desire to
return to college in general and why Meredith is an appropriate place to achieve that goal.
The Honor System
The Honor System is a long-standing tradition and a basis for all life at Meredith College. Based upon the
principles of integrity, fulfillment of community obligations and responsibility to others, the purpose of the Honor
System is to maintain an atmosphere of trust and honor throughout the Meredith community. The willingness
of each student to accept full responsibility for her actions and to abide by the standards set by her peers is
imperative to a community of mutual trust. Every student who attends Meredith must commit herself to abide
by and uphold Meredith’s Honor Code and system of self-government through signing the Honor Pledge during
orientation. When you sign your application to Meredith College, you indicate that you are aware of the impor-

Off-Campus Housing Request (Commuter)
Students age 23 and older are not required to submit this form. Please see the application checklist
on page 13 to ensure you’ve completed all required documents.
Meredith College takes pride in its academic community life and feels strongly that the residence life experience
is an integral part of that community. However, Mer
edith allows students in the following categories to reside
off-campus if that is their preference:
