APPLYING TO MEREDITH
What you need to know
Introduction:
• Apply as a Transfer Student if you
are 22 years of age or younger and
enrolled in a community or four-year
college following high school gradua-
tion and have a part-time or full-time
enrollment record.
• Apply as a Wings – Adult Education
First Degree student if you are 23
years of age or older and have
never enrolled in college after gradu-
ating from high school or earning
a general equivalency high school
diploma.
• Apply as a Wings - Second Degree
student if you are 23 years of age or
older and have previously earned a
bachelors degree or will have earned
a bachelors degree prior to enroll-
ment at Meredith.
• Apply as a Wings - Adult Education
Degree completion student if you
are 23 or older and have enrolled in
a community or four-year college or
university since graduating from high
school.

Priority Application Dates:
Fall semester — February 15
Spring semester — November 1
Summer semester — March 1
*Applications submitted after these
dates will be considered for
admission as space allows.
Admissions decision notification occurs
on a rolling basis. The admissions office
will begin to accept and review fall
applications in August, and applications
for the spring term will be accepted
and reviewed beginning in June of
the year prior to entry. Decisions are
made within four weeks of receiving a
completed application; however, the
applicant should anticipate receiving
communications from the Office of
Admissions prior to that.

Requirements
Transfer Applicants
To be considered for admission, the
applicant must:
• be 22 years of age or younger,
• have 30 or more hours of transfer-
rable college coursework with at
least 18 hours that meet General
Education requirements,
• have a C or higher in a college trans-
ferable math class at an accred-
ited institution, or have completed
Algebra I, II (or their equivalents) and
Geometry in high school,
• have a minimum overall C average
on all courses attempted at post-
secondary institutions,
• be eligible to return to the last
institution regularly attended in good
standing and be recommended by
college officials.
Applicants with fewer than 30 transfer-
rable credits at time of application must
meet freshman application requirements
including submission of the SAT or ACT
and official high school transcript(s).
Applicants with more than 30 transfer-
rable credits at time of application
but less than 18 transferable General
Education credits may be asked to
submit their high school transcript and
ACT or SAT score and meet freshman
admission requirements before a deci-
sion is offered on her application.
Wings – Adult Education First
Degree
To be considered for admission, the
applicant must:
• be 23 years of age or older, at time
of enrollment.
• have graduated from high school
or earned a high school general
equivalency diploma,
• have passed Algebra I, II, and Geom-
etry, or equivalent in high school with
at least a C.
Students not meeting the mathematics
requirement will meet with the Director
of Wings to help develop an individual-
ized college mathematics preparation
plan.
Wings – Adult Education Degree
Completion
To be considered for admission, the
applicant must:
• be 23 years of age or older, at time
of enrollment.
• have enrolled in a two-year or
four-year institution after high school
graduation or earning a general,
equivalency high school diploma,
• have passed Algebra I, II and
Geometry, or equivalent in high
school with at least a C or have
passed a college transfer- rable math
class at an accredited institution with
at least a C.
Students not meeting the mathematics
requirement will meet with the Director
of Wings to help develop an individual-
ized college mathematics preparation
plan.
Wings – Adult Education Second
Degree
Students who wish to seek a second
degree must have completed their
first baccalaureate degree prior to
enrollment.
Admissions Procedures
A complete application for transfer
admission includes:
• completed and signed application
form, including essay,
• $40 non-refundable application fee
or acceptable fee waiver,
• official transcripts from all colleges or
universities attended whether or not
credit was earned,
• school official recommendation from
college last attended,
• Professor recommendation (optional).
Transfer students with fewer than 30
transferrable hours must also submit
a high school transcript or general
equivalency diploma and SAT or ACT
scores.
Non-native English speakers must
submit scores from the Test of English
as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or
International English Language Testing
System (IELTS).
