Student Commencement Speaker Application
2018 Pasadena City College Graduation
The Student Commencement Speaker must be a member of the current PCC graduating class, submit
and audition their speech before the selection committee. A speech of up to three minutes will be
allowed, responding to the prompt below. Graduation is on Friday, June 15, 2018 in Robinson
Stadium at 7pm. The selected speaker must be available for a brief rehearsal the morning of
Commencement at 10:00am.
Prompt 1:
How has your journey to and through PCC has impacted your life? How does your
experience reflect and connect with the PCC student experience?
Procedure for Submission:
• Submit a double-spaced, 12-pt, typed speech in an unmarked manila envelope to the Office of Student Life, in
CC 105 by
Thursday, May 18, 2018 at 12 Noon
. Attach this application to the OUTSIDE of the envelope

Selection Process
• A selection panel will review the speech.
• Successful candidates may be contacted to participate in an oral audition. Attendance at the audition is
mandatory to be eligible for consideration if required.
• Selection will be based on content and presentation.
• The Selection committee will forward the top two candidates to the College President.
• The College President will select the 2018 Student Commencement Speaker. His decision will be final.
