STUDY ABROAD:
Studying abroad in a Spanish-speaking country is strongly recommended.
Students are encouraged to study abroad to attain the desired target language
proficiency goal and to develop first-hand knowledge of Spanish-speaking
cultures. The minimum length of this experience should be one semester or
two summers, both in a structured language program, preferably in a
home stay situation.
A summer session must be no shorter than a four-week intensive program in
order to be counted towards the study abroad requirement.
UW offers a variety of study-abroad programs. Consult with your academic
advisor and with International Programs faculty for details.
