NOMINATION FORM
for the
Marco J. Silvestri Award
Purpose: To recognize and honor individuals whose vision and diverse talents have enhanced the
mission of Hudson Valley Community College via participation in the Academic Senate. The intent
is to acknowledge accomplishments sustained over a significant period of time.

Those submitting a candidate for consideration should provide ample reasons in support of their
nomination, realizing that all criteria listed below may not be met by any one person. Letters in
support of the nominee are also encouraged.
1. Exemplifies exceptional service to the Academic Senate through:
- length of service
- leadership positions held
- committee participation
2. Develops ideas/concepts and any other actions that have effectively assisted or promoted
the mission of the college through participation in the Academic Senate.
3. Fosters the use of the abundant and diverse talents of the college community for the
benefit of all future learners.
4. Exemplifies vision in the areas of excellent teaching, engaged learning and enriched lives.
5. Demonstrates and encourages creativity and innovation.
6. Fosters cooperation among senators, administrators, academic community, non-teaching
professionals and classified staff.
7. Demonstrates a philosophy of mentoring others to enhance and sustain the mission of the
college.
8. Serves as a catalyst for policy development and/or changes.
