typicallypaid.Cercatesofdeposit(CD)
generallypaythehighestrateofinterest,buttheyhavespecicmaturitydates(forexample, 6months,12 months,24
months).Thismeansthebankagreestopayaspeciedinterestrateforthemeperiod,butifyouwantto
withdraw
yourfundsearly(priortothefullmaturi ty)youwould typicallypayapenaltyintheformoflostinterest.
