PROFESSOR’S STATEMENT
Students may propose completion of any of the following as part of their honors contract:
presentation, creative work such as a film or art project, service/community based learning project,
a traditional research paper, a case study or series of case studies, a specialized lab experiment, a
musical composition, a literary composition, an original software or hardware creation, an
empirical research study or fieldwork, or an extensive gathering and analysis of statistical data.
Please provide a description of the proposed activity:
An honors contract will typically require the student to complete at least 25 hours of extra work
during the semester that may be more relevant to the student’s background or interests and that is
related to the course but that is more advanced, requires higher standards and enhancement of
critical thinking and analysis, involves greater depth and/or breadth, and facilitates more student
class participation.
