STATEMENT OF STUDENT UNDERSTANDING AND RESPONSIBILITIES
For Students Receiving Veterans’ Educational Benefits under Title 38
NAME: STUDENT ID #:
I am responsible for the payment of enrollment fees, whether or not I receive my VA Education Benefits.
I must submit an Enrollment Agreement each term I wish to use my VA Education Benefits.
I understand that the Department of Veterans Affairs requires me to have all prior college credits evaluated and on file. I also
understand that it is my responsibility to request and provide FLC with official transcripts from all other colleges outside of Los
Rios Community College District.
I understand that I am required to inform the FLC Veterans office of any and all changes to my class registration during the term.
I understand that withdrawal from courses and subsequent grade of “W” may reduce VA payment eligibility. Failure to do so
may result in an overpayment on my part, which would result in a debt with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
For continued payment, the VA requires that you make satisfactory progress towards your goal. This means maintaining a 2.0
cumulative GPA and completing at least 50% of your units each term.
For Students Using Post 9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33):
After your submission of the Enrollment Agreement to the FLC Veterans Success Center, the colleges VA certifying official
electronically submits the certification to the VA. The housing allowance and book stipend are sent directly to the student; the
fees & tuition are paid directly to the college. FLC will place a Do Not Drop indicator on the student’s record so classes are not
dropped for nonpayment. After we receive the payment from the VA, the business services office will post the payment to the
student’s account. If there is a balance due at that time, the student will be contacted by business services via email and payment
will be required at that time.
The book/supplies stipend is $1,000 per academic year. The stipend is $41.67 per unit for up to 24 units; prorated based on the
percentage of your benefit level.
If you are enrolled in solely ONLINE courses, you will not receive the maximum benefit payable.
