San Jacinto Valley Women's Conference

Annual Scholarship Program

The mission of the SJVWC Scholarship Program is to encourage and

enable women to obtain and further

their education to allow them to

provide for themselves, their families and the Community. The awards

are funded by the work of the San Jacinto Valley Women's Conference,

an annual event held here in the San Jacinto Valley. The funds will be

paid to the Sc

hool or program management authority on behalf of each

selected recipient, wither through the business office or the school's f

Financial Aid Office.

Application Deadline

The completed application, along with all required documents must be

recorded as sent

via email or postmarked no later than March 8, 2019.

Scholarship Qualifications

The student applying f

or a scholarship must meet the following criteria:

1. Be a female student

2. Be a resident of one of the following Communities in the greater

San Jacinto Valley; Aguanga, Anza, Garner Valley, Gilman Hot

Springs, Hemet, Idyll wild, Lakeview, Mountain Center, Pine

Cove,

Sage, San Jacinto or Winchester.

3. Be a high school graduate or have obtained certified GED.

4. Be eligible for enrollment (with documented status) for the

program noted on the application.

5. Proof of financial need.

Scholarship Levels

Trade or Certificate

programs upto$ 500

Undergraduate Programs

up to $ 750

Graduate/Post Graduate Program

up to $ 1,000

There is potential for an annual renewal of $1,000 for up to four years

for a total award not to exceed $4,000. The criteria for renewal are that

the stud

ent must: Continue to be enrolled in an approved program and

maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or demonstrate satisfactory

completion of any enrolled program previously funded.

San Jacinto Valley Women’s Scholarship

Please include all of the following materials with your Scholarship application.

1. Resume

Your resume should include the following information:

• Extracurricular activities (school and community related)

• Honors and awards

• Work experience

2. Transcript

An official "sealed" copy of your current

academic transcript. (Unofficial copies will

be accepted with your application, however, official transcripts must be received

prior to award.)

3. Essay

In no more than 500 words, describe:

1) how this program or course of study will affect your life, family and community

2) how you plan to be engaged in the program or course of study in the future

3) your financial need

4. Two letters of recommendation

One letter must

be related to the program for which you are applying, through

personal knowledge of your abilities, knowledge or skills. One letter can be from a

person you know through academic, employment, or community leadership

experience.

Letters of recommendation should be original and not duplicates of college

recommendation letters. Each letter MUST be on letterhead. Please do not use

relatives as references.

5. A Completed Application Form

Fill out the entire Application Form at the end of this document. You can type the

information or print clearly. When you are done, print both pages

of the Application

Form, and make sure that you sign and date the verification.

6. A Completed Financial Statement (See page 4)

considered for financial need. It is essential that this form reflect a true picture of your household

Verification:

respects and that I intend to pursue a degree in higher education or certification in a

trade or service related program. If asked by an authorized official of the San Jacinto

Valley Women’s Conference Committee, I agree to give proof of income, which may

include a copy of my (and spouse’s) and/or parent’s income for the calendar year

immediately preceding the application year’s US Income Tax Return. I also realize that

any false statement or failure to give proof of income when requested may be cause for

denial of my scholarship application. I understand that the information requested on this

application is confidential. I authorize the San Jacinto Valley Women’s Conference

Committee to release enrollment and financial data on request to the academic

institution designated in this application. The San Jacinto Valley Women’s Conference

Committee may use my name and image, as provided, for publicity purposes.

I also understand that, if I am selected, the awarding of funds is contingent upon my

enrollment at an accredited institution and that the funds will be paid directly to the

institution and used toward the cost of my education.
