All applicants will be considered for Saint Mary’s University funds. All full-time graduate students who apply by February 1 are
considered for FGSR graduate funding and those who are successful are officially notified by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and
Research. In addition, accepted students are eligible for teaching assistantships within the department and financial support from their
research supervisor.
ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
1. A current CV/Resume.
2. Research proposal. On one sheet of paper with your name at the top, please state your research area and potential supervisor (see Saint Mary’s
University website – www.smu.ca – for a list of Geography faculty and their research interests).
3. Sample of academic or other written work (10 page maximum).
4. Official transcripts for all universities and colleges attended.
5. Three (3) Recommendation Forms, two of which should be from academics familiar with your work.
6. Official Proof of English Language Proficiency (if required).
