The cost of participating in some organized sports can be a financial challenge and barrier to some
families. Thanks to the generous support from many community donations in memory of Laurie
Palibrod and Kootenay Savings Credit Union, youth from the West Kootenay area are eligible to
apply for support towards the costs of attending the Selkirk Saints Golf Camp registration.

It is the responsibility of the nominator to ensure the application is complete
and to forward it to Selkirk College.
General Guidelines:
• Application
deadline for this bursary is June
15, 2020
Late applicants will
only be accepted if no qualified recipient has been selected.
• Children must be a permanent resident of the West Kootenay region.
• Financial need and an interest in golf are the first criteria for these bursaries.
• All nominations must be completed in ink. Incomplete applications will not
be accepted.
• All nominations must be sent to the Financial Aid Office of Selkirk College via
mail (301 Frank BeinderWay, Castlegar, BC, V1N 4L3), email (Financial_Aid@
selkirk.ca), or fax (250.365.3929).
Nominator Guidelines:
• The nominator should be familiar with the applicant’s nancial situation as
their signature veries thenancial need of the family.
• The nominator can be a professional in social work or family services, a
school principal or counsellor/a recreation administrator/ a public health
nurse/ a nancial aid ocer/ church ocial/coach ordirector of clubs/sports
leagues.
• Nominators other than those listed above may be considered if a written
letter from the potentialnominator detailing the nature or the professional
relationship to student athlete outlining thenancial need of the family is
included with the application.

Memorial and Kootenay Savings Credit Union Golf Camp Sponsorship and agree
that this applicant meets the guidelines. I believe the family of this applicant has
nancial need and that the award of this Sponsorship would allow the child to
participate in the Selkirk Saints Golf Camp in Castlegar, BC.
