SEARK College Rising Up Scholarship Application
Attention New and/or Transfer Students: If you are applying as a first-time freshman, you must have a completed
admission application on file with SEARK College. A completed application should include: immunization record, an
official copy of high school transcript or GED test scores, and placement test scores (ACT, SAT, or *Accuplacer).
Transfer students should submit official college transcripts from all colleges attended.
Rising Up Applicants: This scholarship will be awarded to students based on financial need. To receive the
strongest consideration, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application
at www.fafsa.gov. The SEARK financial aid school code is 014893. A limited number of awards are available for
students who do not demonstrate a financial need.
Additional Information: Students who are awarded this scholarship will receive a $500 credit toward their
student account. This credit will be used to reduce the total cost of tuition and fees. Students who meet
GPA requirements will be eligible to receive this scholarship in the Spring, Summer, & Fall 2022 semesters.

Directions and Additional Information for Rising Up Applicants:
This scholarship program is intended primarily for Black/African American students; however, a
limited number of awards will be made to students from other racial backgrounds.
This award is intended primarily for students who demonstrate an extraordinary financial need;
however, a limited number of awards are available for students who do not have this need.
Students enrolled in the following programs are eligible for this award: Cybersecurity, Commercial
Driver's License (CDL), Welding, HVAC, Computer Information Systems and Business Analytics,
Nursing and Allied Health (NAH) and Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT), and/or:
Students enrolled in the following courses are eligible for this award: Introduction to Construction
and Building Trades, Politics of Race, African American Literature, Introduction to Critical Thinking,
and Foundations of Leadership.
Students who maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA and enroll in a qualifying program/course (as listed
above) are eligible to receive a $500 scholarship for each 2022 semester (Spring 2022, Summer
2022, Fall 2022) for a potential total award of $1500.
Awards are not guaranteed and are awarded on a funds available basis. Limits may exist when receiving multiple awards.
A scholarship committee evaluates submitted applications and selects recipients. Scholarships are highly competitive and award criteria
may include academic merit, financial need, extracurricular activities, leadership, and/or other requirements.
New students can take the Accuplacer placement test for free at SEARK College. For more information,
