S-STEM Scholarship Application
The completed application packet must be submitted to one of the office
locations listed below in-person by May 13, 2019. Incomplete application
packets or application packets submitted by others will not be accepted. The
packet will be reviewed by a committee comprised of STEM Faculty,
Counselor, Financial Aid Advisor, School Dean and S-STEM Director.
Eligibility:
Citizens of the United States, nationals of the United States, aliens
admitted as refugees under section 207 of the Immigration and
Nationality Act, or aliens lawfully admitted to the United States for
permanent residence
Enrolled as a full-time student during the 2019-2020 academic year
Grade point average of 2.75 in math and science and 2.5 overall and
completion or enrollment in Pre-calculus or above
Application packet must include:
FAFSA confirmation demonstrating financial need
Copy of SEP leading to transfer to a 4-year institution as a STEM major
Transcript confirming eligibility
Two letters of recommendation from former or current STEM
instructors. Letters must stress students’ academic potential and
dedication
300-word essay describing students’ motivation for pursuing a STEM
degree, summary of career goals and a statement of service to the
COD and the community
