Student Employment Eligibility
Student employment is a financial aid program that provides students with a financial NEED to earn
money through part-time employment at an on-campus or approved off-campus worksite.
To qualify for Student employment applicants must:
a. Have completed the FAFSA process (including Verification process) for the academic year in which
employment is requested.
b. Be enrolled in, and remain enrolled in at least six credits that apply toward graduation from their
declared SJC program of study during the semester in which employment is awarded.
c. Not concurrently be employed as regular SJC employee and Student Employee.
d. Have at least $1,200.00 in Financial Aid NEED remaining to which Student Employment can be
awarded.
e. Meet Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements, including:
1)
Enrolled in and making progress toward graduation from a SJC Financial Aid approved program
of study.
2)
Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0.
3)
Maintain a Cumulative Course Completion Rate of at least 67%.
4)
Be on track to complete SJC program of study within 150% of the credits required for program
completion.
General Information Concerning Student Employment
ALL students desiring student employment must complete the entire application process each academic year
in which student employment is being sought. The application process for the upcoming Academic Year
includes having completed the applicable FAFSA for the academic year in which student employment is being
requested.
Financial Aid Awards for student employment for the upcoming Academic Year will start on May 1
st
of each
year.
