INCOMPLETE GRADE - POLICY & PROCEDURE
A student may request a grade of Incomplete (“I”), only at the end of a semester in which the student has
done the following:
1. Averaged a gr
ade of “C” or better in at least 60% of the enrollment period for the course.
2. Presented a case documenting circumstances, which prevent completion of the course
requirements by the end of that semester.
3. Entered into the “Contract for Incomplete Grade” with the instructor.
All contr
acts must be reviewed and approved by the Registrar.
It is th
e exclusive responsibility of the student receiving a grade of “I” to contact the instructor and
complete the course.
A “Cont
ract for Incomplete Grade” will not exceed one semester following its approval. A grade of “I”
issued during a summer session must be completed by the end of the following fall semester.
Upon completi
on of course work outlined in the contract, the instructor will initiate a “Change of Grade
Form”. If the instructor is no longer available, the student must contact the Registrar.
If the work required is not completed the semester following the approval of the contact, the grade
specified on the contract will be posted to the student’s permanent record.
