A Certified Copy of a Marriage License is a legal document of marriage. Certified copies may be required to change your
name with the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA), Social Security Administration, Passport, Insurance
Companies, etc.
Copies may be obtained in person or by mail
Certified copies are $5.50 per copy. Plain copies (not certified) are $.50 per copy. Acceptable forms of payment are
cash, money order, cashier checks (payable to the Clerk of the Court), MasterCard, and Visa.
