Transfer Application
Under the Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Act 1994
The form is in two parts, A and B. The acquirer and disposer must sign both parts.
Part A. Transfer Application must be completed in full and signed by both the acquirer and disposer, and submitted to the Department of
Transport and Main Roads (TMR) by the acquirer.
Part B. Proof of Transfer/Notice of Disposal must be completed in full and signed by both the acquirer and disposer, and kept by the
disposer until the registration has been transferred.
Acquirer must complete and submit Part A within 14 days of acquiring the ship, together with:
Evidence of Identity (EOI) is required at the time of making this application. Personal identication for example, Queensland Driver
Licence or business/company/organisational identication. Refer to the separate Evidence of Identity Information Sheet (F4362) or
www.tmr.qld.gov.au for requirements. Note: If the ship is to be registered in joint names both parties must provide suitable personal identication.
A transfer fee will apply.
Recreational ships that are 15 metres or more in length will require an endorsement from Maritime Standards
(Maritime_Standards@tmr.qld.gov.au) prior to transfer.
Prescribed Other Queensland Regulated Ships, will require an endorsement from Maritime Standards
(Maritime_Standards@tmr.qld.gov.au) prior to transfer.
Disposer must:
Complete and keep Part B as proof of Transfer/Notice of Disposal until registration is transferred from their name.

The owner/master of a ship must not operate a ship unless the ship is safe. A ship is safe if it is seaworthy and is appropriately equipped
and crewed, to meet the ordinary perils of the voyage on which the ship is proceeding or about to proceed.
Obligations under the Petroleum and Gas (Production and Safety) Regulation 2004 and the Electrical Safety Act 2002 must be met.
TMR may refuse the application for transfer if it is reasonably satised the ship is unseaworthy.
An Australian Builders Plate is required on ships built and oered for sale after 28 September 2006.
If this ship is enrolled for Direct Debit it is the disposer’s responsibility to ensure the ship is removed from the scheme prior to the
transfer of registration.
Warning: It may be an oence if the acquirer does not lodge a Queensland Regulated Ship Registration Transfer
Application within 14 days of acquiring the ship. Penalties may apply.
