Priscilla Toth Education Scholarship Rules and Application
Submit by: July 31 or December 31 (limit one per year)
Mission/Purpose
Through its scholarship program, the New York State Real Estate Education Foundation (NYSREEF) aims to raise the level
of knowledge, professionalism, and client service among REALTORS® by encouraging participation in national
designation courses.
Eligibility
If you have at least one year full‐time experience in real estate sales, are licensed and actively practicing in New York
State and hold primary REALTOR
®
membership in New York State, you are eligible. You must:
•
Demonstrate a drive to continue your real estate education including a willingness to travel to courses.
•
Show positive production results (at least three closed transaction sides in the past year) with consistent growth.
•
Prove your interest in furthering your career in real estate or real estate education.
It is expected that, upon earning a national designation, scholarship recipients will maintain REALTOR® and designation
membership to make the most of the Foundation’s investment in your future.
Applicants will be granted no more than one award per year.
Application Requirements
Completed applications must be submitted by July 31 for October awards or December 31 for February awards.
Incomplete or unsigned applications will not be considered.
Two letters of recommendation supporting the applicant must be included and must be signed and dated within the
previous three months. Recommendations must include one from the broker or manager of the firm with which the
applicant is associated; the other from someone else familiar with the applicant professionally (such as a local board
officer, a community or civic organization leader or other professional). If the applicant is a broker, two professional
recommendations are acceptable.
You must attach a letter explaining your motivation for applying (although scholarship awards are not based on
need, you may address any existing financial hardship), your future goals relating to the use of the scholarship, how far
you’d be willing to travel to a course and if you plan to maintain membership in good standing allowing you to continue
using the designation and taking advantage of the associated member benefits. A description of your community
involvement, local board activities and any other information that might aid in the selection process may be included in
your letter.
