APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
PhD by Portfolio (Supporting Information)
This information is to be supplied at ‘Full Proposal’ stages, after the Expression of Interest has been completed.
Appl
icants must consult a copy of the PhD by Portfolio Course Rules, prior to completing this form; carefully noting the expectations and
requirements of the Portfolio degree.
Applicants should also be aware that the traditional PhD is based on the candidate undertaking a body of work over three to four years to develop
a thesis that contains a significant and original contribution that is assessed by international experts via an external examination. The volume and
quality of work undertaken by a candidate in the Doctor of Philosophy by Portfolio degree is expected to emulate this process, using prior research
that can be presented in a format demonstrated a substantive body of work and which will be assessed via the standard external doctoral
examination processes.

result in a report on eligibility for consideration as a HERDC research output (including non-traditional research outputs), citations, impact factor
and other relevant information. A copy of this report will be provided to the admissions Committee and the applicant.

4. Do you anticipate needing to collect any new or additional data during the course of your research degree, in order to supplement the work
already done? If yes, please briefly describe your data collection activities in terms of scope and timeline.
5. Do you anticipate needing to perform new or more detailed analyses of research data, in order to supplement the work already done? If
yes, please briefly describe these analyses in terms of scope and timeline.
6. Please certify the following:
To the best of my knowledge,
the work presented for consideration has not previously been submitted for the award of a degree at any other institution, either by the
applicant or by any of the listed co-authors.
the research activities described in the submitted publications were conducted in alignment with the Australian Code for Responsible
Conduct of Research (and any other jurisdiction that may be applicable for international work). This includes relevant ethics clearances
and/or other permissions as applicable.
This work is not the subject of any intellectual property, copyright, confidentiality or other ownership issues that would preclude its use in a
thesis.
