PETITION GUIDELINES

You are requesting an exception to a faculty-established policy or academic deadline. Such petitions are approved provided that the
criteria outlined below are met. If your request falls outside the described criteria, you are required to provide evidence of compelling
circumstances which would warrant approval. Present all information in a clear and concise manner and return your completed petition
immediately.
Please note:
the ARC does not consider the following to be circumstances which warrant an exception to the policies or deadlines:
Dissatisfaction with a grade
Dates that midterms/grades were given, posted or returned
Ignorance/confusion about the deadline date
Failure to carefully check registration and bills on DuckWeb
For approval of any petition, the following are mandatory:
9 Instructor signature
9 Department stamp
PETITIONS TO CHANGE A GRADING OPTION will be approved under the following conditions:
9 instructor signature and department stamp are on the petition and
9 you are an undergraduate who has applied to graduate and
9 you have accumulated 150 credits or more and
9 you need the option changed to complete your General Education graded credit requirement for graduation.
*****Please note: if you need your grading option changed only
to fulfill a requirement for your major or minor,
you must go to the department*******
PETITIONS TO CHANGE VARIABLE CREDIT:
They will be considered by the committee if the instructor signs and the department stamps your petition.
Please allow at least ten working days to be notified of a decision on your petition. If you have questions about a
registration petition, contact a Student Records Specialist in the Office of the Regist
