particularly noteworthy among our colleague’s activities in our division and/or professional
organizations and/or the PCC community as a whole.
Criteria
The rank of Professor Emeritus may be awarded to exceptional members of the faculty who
have retired or are retiring.
1. The nominee must hold the rank of Professor.
2. The nominee should have served Pasadena City College in a certificated position for at
least ten (10) years.
3. The nominee should be a retiree in the academic year the nomination is made or in the
academic year previous to the nomination.
4. The rank cannot be awarded posthumously.
5. Nomination for the rank must be accompanied by:
a) a statement indicating the nominee’s noteworthy achievements and
contributions to the College, the division, and the profession;
b) a list of signatures of those who endorse the candidate’s nomination.
(It is recommended that the nomination form be signed by at least 50 percent of
the full-time faculty members in the nominee’s division.)
