For payment, all items must be at the Meets Standards criteria. The developed course belongs to the College and can be assigned to
any faculty member.
For full-time faculty developing a course for release points, points will be awarded in the term in which the work is completed.
For employees developing a course for payment, one-half of the payment will occur in the payroll closest to the mid-point of the
activity, with the second half paid when course development is completed. (Please see Academic Management Manual, Section G,
Payment for College-Owned Online Course Development).

Payment for Course Development
1. College requested online course development FT Faculty
a. During the faculty contract period, FT faculty would receive 9 pts. release time for each
course developed, a maximum of 2 courses per semester as approved by the VPAA.
b. During the summer term, FT faculty would receive payment based on 60 hrs. of
development time X their hourly rate, for a maximum of 1 course per the 12 week summer
term, as approved by the VPAA.
c. A scope of work, with deliverables and time lines would be completed and signed by the
faculty member. The document would state that once the course is fully developed and
approved, the course belongs to the college and can be assigned to any faculty member.
d. Payment would be throughout the term with due dates and deliverables approved by
eLearning.
e. Selection of faculty to develop courses would be approved by the Dean of Curriculum and
Educational Technology with input from the Deans of Academic Affairs.
2. College requested online course development PSAV Instructor and/or Adjunct Faculty
a. Payment would be $1800 for each course for a maximum of 2 courses per semester and a
maximum of 1 course per summer term of 12 weeks. Adjunct faculty are limited to the 27.5
hrs. per week policy.
b. A scope of work, with deliverables and time lines would be completed and signed by the
Adjunct Faculty member and/or the PSAV Instructor. The document would state that once
the course is fully developed and approved, the course belongs to the college and can be
assigned to any faculty member.
c. Payment would be at the 50% interval during the term and at the end of the term after all
timelines and deliverables are met and course is approved by eLearning. Approval by
eLearning and the VPAA would initiate payment.
d. Selection of PSAV instructors and/or adjuncts would be approved by the Dean of Curriculum
and Educational Technology with input from the Deans of Academic Affairs.
3. College required online course review FT Faculty, PSAV Instructors, and/or Adjuncts
a. When eLearning requests that a college owned online course be substantially redesigned,
faculty/instructor/adjunct would be selected by Dean of Curriculum and Educational
Technology with input from the Deans of Academic Affairs.
b. During the academic year, FT faculty would receive 3 pts. release time per course
review/redesign, with a maximum of 2 courses per semester.
c. Payment for FT faculty during the summer 12 week term would be based on the faculty
member’s hourly rate X number of course credits for a maximum of 1 course for the
summer.
d. Payment for Adjuncts and Instructors would be $200 X number of course credits, not to
exceed 2 courses per academic year and/or 1 course during the 12 week summer term.
e. Scope of work would be developed and agreed upon.
f. Payment would be in intervals and completion of scope of work as approved by eLearning
and VPAA.
4. Development and/or revision of a face to face or hybrid course would not be compensated, as
considered part of normal job responsibilities of teaching faculty and instructors.
