MHR students may transfer no more than 9 hours of graduate credit from other universities. These credits must be evaluated
by the University and approved by the Graduate College. They may not be applied toward individual course requirements
without prior graduate liaison approval.
Other OU Graduate Classes: No more than 9 hours of graduate credit taken in other OU programs may be used towards the
MHR degree. These hours must be approved by the graduate liaison.
MHR students may not apply more than 9 combined hours of transfer credit and OU credit outside the HR program.
At least 15 hours of a student’s coursework must be in classroom-based HR classes. Internship, independent study, directed
reading, and practicum are not classroom-based and therefore cannot be counted as part of the 15 hours of classroom-
based work. Also, other University of Oklahoma courses and transfer hours do not count as part of these 15 hours.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION: 3 hours. Student must take one course on the topic of Diversity and Inclusion with approval of
the graduate liaison and advisor.
RESEARCH AND APPLICATION: 6 hours.
Students will choose one of three tracks. Elective courses must be approved by the liaison and advisor.
Non-Thesis Exam Track—6 hours H R 5200 Internship, or 3 hours H R 5200 and 3 hours electives, or 6 hours electives.
Capstone Project Track—3 hours H R 5880 Human Relations Capstone and 3 hours H R 5200 Internship, or 3 hours H R
5880 and 3 hours elective.
Thesis Track—3 hours H R 5980 Research for Master’s Thesis and 3 hours H R 5200 Internship, or 3 hours H R 5980 and 3
hours elective. A completed Master’s Thesis Topic and Committee Membership form must be attached.
