Development Iniave
The development of online courses requires a signicant investment of me by the faculty at
Columbia College. Expansion of the college’s online oerings is also an important iniave in
support of students compleng their Guided Pathways. With these factors in mind, the col-
lege will ulize a poron of its Guided Pathways funding to provide spends to faculty who
meet certain benchmarks in developing and oering online courses as listed below. The num-
ber of spends available per term is limited. Proposed courses that meet one or more of the
following criteria may be eligible for spends. Each course must be approved by the Division
Dean and the Vice President of Instrucon, validang that it aligns with the college’s strategic
goals and student needs.

Courses being developed for the Online
Educaon Iniave (OEI)
GE courses (CSU-GE or IGETC)
Courses required for awards
Courses that are C-ID approved
Courses that are equivalent to MJC courses
Prerequisites
Faculty member approved for online teaching
Approved for DE oering by curriculum
commiee.
