WHEREAS the Ontario Building Code requires
that the subject construction be designed and
reviewed by an architect, professional engineer or
both;
AND WHEREAS the Ontario building Code
requires that a person who intends to construct or
have constructed a building required to be
designed by an architect, professional engineer or
both shall ensure that such professionals are
retained to undertake the general review of the
construction of the building in accordance with the
applicable performance standards of the
Ontario
Association of Architects or the Professional
Engineers of Ontario;
NOW THEREFORE, the owner, being the person
responsible for the subject construction hereby
warrants;
1) that architects and/or professional engineers
have been retained for the general review of the
subject construction as required by the Ontario
Building Code;
2) that the general review will include such
inspections, reviews, interpretations and reports
as required by the performance standards of the
Ontario Association of Architects
and/or the
Professional Engineers of Ontario;
3) that reports arising from the general review will
be promptly forwarded to the Chief Building
Official;
4) that
each of the retained architects) and
professional engineer(s) will complete a General
Review Commitment Certificate as prescribed by
the Chief Building Official prior to and as a
condition to the issuance of a building permit; and
5) that should any retained architect or
professional engineer cease to provide the
general review of the building during construction,
the Chief Building Official shall be notified
immediately, and another architect or professional
engineer appointed so that general review
continues without interruption.
