NOTICE TO TENANTS ABOUT THE
RESIDENTIAL RENT STABILIZATION AND TENANT PROTECTION ORDINANCE
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECEIPT
The City of Hayward adopted a Residential Rent Stabilization and Tenant Protection Ordinance
(RRSO). The RRSO creates laws about:
Rent increases including:
o Allowable rent increases; and
o Dispute resolution process (Rent Review).
Tenant protections including:
o Harassment and retaliation
o Just cause for tenant eviction
o Stopping bias about sources of income (including rental assistance);
The landlord must tell you about the RRSO and the sections that apply to your unit. By checking
the boxes below, the landlord is telling you which sections apply to your unit.
The unit is a covered unit. Rent review is available to decide allowable rent increase.
The unit is subject to the tenant harassment and retaliation protection provisions.
The unit is subject to just cause for tenant eviction provisions.
