MSU-Northern participates in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)
program. Students from any of the states listed at left are eligible to apply for a
special, reduced tuition rate.
WUE tuition rates are awarded to students who are fully accepted for admission
and have completed the WUE agreement and provided residency verification.
Students need not demonstrate financial need to receive the WUE tuition rate.
WUE tuition is awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis and is dependent on the
following requirements:
Continuous enrollment during Fall and Spring semesters at MSU-Northern
Maintenance of a 2.5 grade point average
Enrollment and completion of at least 15 credits per semester
Maintain permanent residency of qualifying state
Duration of the WUE tuition rate is until completion of 180 credits. A student
may not become a Montana resident for fee purposes while attending MSU-
Northern as a WUE student. The WUE tuition rate cannot be used in conjunction
with any other tuition waivers at MSU-Northern.
How To Apply:
Complete the WUE Agreement, sign and submit it, along with verification
of your state residency (e.g., a copy of your driver’s license), to MSU-
Northern, Admissions Office, 213 Cowan Hall, P.O. Box 7751, Havre MT
59501 or fax it to (406)265-3792.
Upon receipt of the WUE application, MSU-Northern Admissions will
review the document and residency verification. If all requirements are
met, Admissions will update your residency status and apply the WUE
tuition.
