3+X GTI Program
FINANCIAL GUIDELINES
Please complete the following form and upload it with supporting documentation to your online application. Your application will be incomplete
and we will be unable to proceed until this form and the supporting bank documents have been received.
You must document sufficient funds available for the 3+X GTI Program. We will accept a personal bank statement or letter which
demonstrates the exact amount of liquid assets currently on deposit in the account. If you are not using personal funds, please indicate how
you will be supported in the space provided in Section II below, listing a relative, friend, employer, government or institution funding and submit
their financial documentation in the form of a Bank Statement or Letter.
Sponsorship by non-immigrants in a visa status which does not allow employment (such as F-2, TD, etc.) may not be acceptable and may
require further information.
The Bank Statement OR Bank Letter:
•Must certify that the money is currently on deposit in liquid assets.
-May include checking or savings accounts, certificate of deposits, or money market accounts. However, value assessments of properties or
stocks/investments, salary information, mortgages, etc. are not acceptable.
-Must be in English or translated to English.
-Date of issuance must be clearly listed on the document, and the date must be within 6 months from the receipt date at NC State University.
-Bank letters must include the printed name, job title, and original signature of a bank representative.
Applicants who will be financially sponsored by his/her employer, home government or university must provide an Official Letter of support
from his/her scholarship or fellowship source with the current date and a signature indicating the amount and duration of the award. The
letter should also include the applicant’s name and state that it is valid specifically for enrollment in the 3+X GTI Program. Estimated Cost of

Health Insurance is a requirement for F-1 students. All students will be enrolled in the Student Insurance Plan administered by Student Blue,
Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. Some students may qualify for a waiver of the plan: https://healthypack.dasa.ncsu.edu/.
** Please note that applicants will need to submit another CFR when they are ready to move into the master's program after completion of the
GTI program. Applicants will have to be able to demonstrate a new amount based on the new Fall 2020 fees. Our current fees for the general
graduate program is $47,037 in support- $26,243 for tuition, $15,393 for living expenses (9 months for F-1) which includes Rent, Fees, Food,
Books and Personal expenses. J-1 students must show at least $53,968 in support- $27,725 for living expenses (12 months for J-1) per each
year as listed on the DS-2019. Part-time or full-time employment during summers should not be expected to be a significant means of support.
Please keep in mind that this is an estimate calculated well in advance of the actual start of the semester and these estimates are subject to
change. An increase per year of 3-6% can be expected. Applicants to premium tuition programs will demonstrate additional funding due to higher
tuition rates/fees.
