2020 ALCOHOL PERMIT APPLICATION

The Alcohol Permit is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and may be terminated immediately with forfeiture
of any fees, at the discretion of local law enforcement or Milwaukee County Parks. If alcohol is present at your site and
you do not have an Alcohol Permit, you may receive a $200 fine and/or a 90-day jail sentence, per chapter 47.17 of
Milwaukee County Ordinances. Any applicant seeking an Alcohol Permit must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
THE APPROVED PERMIT MUST BE PRODUCED IMMEDIATELY UPON REQUEST. IT IS NOT TRANSFERABLE
AND IS NOT REFUNDABLE.
ALCOHOL PERMIT RULES AND PROCESS:
The following conditions shall apply to permits regarding alcohol in the Botanical Gardens:
1.
The Permit is issued only in conjunction with an outdoor or Garden House rental at the Botanical Gardens and shall
automatically expire when the permitted rental period ends.
2.
The Permit Holder shall be responsible for ensuring that all members of his or her party are legally permitted to
c
onsume alcohol pursuant to Wisconsin state law.
3.
The Permit Holder will be responsible for any damages, injuries, and/or costs which result from the consumption of
alcohol in the Botanical Gardens. The Permit Holder shall indemnify and defend Milwaukee County from any action
brought to recover for such damages, injuries and/or costs. The County shall have a cause of action and may seek
recovery for such damages, injuries and/or costs incurred from such permittee.
4.
The Permit Holder shall bring alcohol into the Botanical Gardens only for consumption, not for sale or to solicit
donations, contributions, or any form of payment.
5.
The Permit Holder shall be responsible for all members of his or her party. Such persons may be ejected from the
park or cited for violations associated with alcohol use, and the Permit may be revoked, the alcohol confiscated, or
the event disbanded. Should the Permit Holder leave the event for any purpose, the Permit shall be revoked.
6.
The Permit Holder shall deposit litter in receptacles and restore the park site to its original condition at the end of the
event. The Permit Holder shall be assessed a minimum of $50 clean-up fee for any failure to comply with this provision.
