PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!

The Fisher College of Science and Mathematics (FCSM) Scholarship Committee is accepting applications for the above

scholarship.

Please check the following boxes to confirm that you meet the Scholarship Criteria of:

I am a graduate of an Anne Arundel County High School

I am a first generation student (neither parent completed college)

I have a high school GPA of 3.1 or higher and

I intend to declare a major in the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics and attend Towson University full time.

The scholarship is renewable for three years so long as the recipient maintains an overall and in-major GPA of 3.5 and continues

to major in the FCSM. Should a recipient's overall or in-major GPA fall below a 3.5 and no lower than a 3.3, they would have one

semester to bring both back up to a 3.5. To apply, complete this application in its entirety.

ALL ATTACHMENTS MUST ACCOMPANY THE APPLICATION OR APPLICATION WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

SECTION III – High School Transcript (official or a copy) Including GPA, Class Standing and SAT/ACT Scores must be

included with this form.

SAT/ACT Scores may be downloaded from College Board or included on transcript but must be included with this form.

SECTION IV – Two Signed and Sealed Letters of Support on School Letterhead from High School Science or

Mathematics Teachers Only.

Each science or mathematics teacher must compose and sign a letter of support and complete the teacher recommendation form

to be included with this form in a sealed envelope signed by the teacher.

All student recipients are expected to write a thank you note to the donor or donor representative as appropriate. The

recipient will be contacted by the Office of Development with more information on the acknowledgment process soon

after notification of selection.

Before placing your application package in the mail, please make certain that ALL of the following items are

enclosed in your application package mailer:

❏ Personal Statement

❏ High School Transcript (official or copy) – If official, it should be in sealed, official school envelope

If copy, please place in an envelope of its own

❏ SAT/ACT Scores – may be downloaded from College Board or included on transcript

❏ (First) Signed Letter of Support on official school letterhead and Teacher Recommendation form

from Science or Mathematics Teacher must be in a sealed envelope signed by the teacher

❏ (Second) Signed Letter of Support on official school letterhead and Teacher Recommendation form

from Science or Mathematics Teacher must be in a sealed envelope signed by the teacher

Please follow the instructions as outlined in the Willard Hackerman Scholarship Application form precisely.

This scholarship application process is completely separate from the application process to the University.

Please remember that all attachments must accompany your application in order to be considered for the

scholarship(s) for which you are applying. You must mail your application with all attachments to the address on the

front of the application. Applications postmarked after the deadline will not be considered.
