Call for Nominations
Mac Martin Excellence in Leadership Awards 2019
This award acknowledges an outstanding student athlete leader and an outstanding student leader each
year who reflect the values and commitment of Mac Martin. Mac Martin was one of Chico State's most
respected and appreciated staff and alumni members. During his many years of service, Mac assisted in
countless student extracurricular activities, helped rebuild the Alumni Association, and started the first
food service on campus. Mac was also known for the annual Mac Martin Invitational Basketball
Tournament. This award is funded by the Mac Martin Student Leadership Endowment.
Award
2 recipients will be selected and each will receive $1,200.
Eligibility
All CSU, Chico undergraduate students who have demonstrated significant, outstanding
leadership on campus; leadership in community activities will be
considered. Nominees
should have co
nsiderable involvement in extracurricular activities as student athlete or
club
athlete; be an inspiration to others; have made a positive impact on campus.
Nomination
Guidelines
Nominations may be submitted by current CSU, Chico faculty, staff members, and
students. Please complete the nomination form and attach it to a letter of nomination
that:
• Describes your nominee's outstanding leadership activities. Please be specific,
noting events, dates, organizations, the individual's contributions and how they
aided the organization, event or situation
• Describes why you feel your nominee deserves this acknowledgement
• Includes a
dditional materials such as news articles, other letters of support for the
nominee, or a list of the nominee's previous accomplishments that may be
relevant.
Selection Process
Nominations will be reviewed by a committee representing Student Affairs, Financial Aid
and Scholarship, and
University Advancement. Winners and nominators will be notified
by
March 20, 2019.
Presentation of
Award
The Mac Martin Excellence in Leadership Awards will be presented at the Student
Leadership Awards on April 11, 2019.
Deadline
Nominations must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13 to:
