M.O.S.T. Fall 2020 Scholarship Criteria

Scholarships are available to individuals accepted in the M.O.S.T. program. Scholarship is renewable provided

criteria are maintained and will be prioritized based upon order received and financial need.

1. Returning adults or incoming freshmen may apply.

2. Must be accepted, and currently active in the M.O.S.T. program

3. Must be currently enrolled in and actively participating in classes only at Southwest.

4. Applicant must agree to work with an Advisor and a Counselor throughout their academic career.

Failure to do so will make the applicant ineligible for future funding.

5. Applicant must agree to serve a minimum of 16 hours each semester of community service

outlined by the program staff. Community service must be documented on the form provided and

signed by the person/program providing oversight.

6. Applicant must maintain a minimum of 90% attendance rate in classes, maintain good academic

standing, attend the summer I.C.E. (Introduction to College Excellence) activities, join a student

organization, and attend workshops and other M.OS.T. sponsored activities.

7. Full or part-time students are eligible to apply for an award.

8. After the initial award, awards may be renewed if recipient maintains a minimum cumulative 2.0

GPA along with satisfactory participation (i.e., must attend and participate in M.O.S.T. activities).

9. May pursue any certificate or degree program.

10. Must demonstrate a strong desire to succeed and strictly adhere to the program’s Code of Ethics.

11. Must submit a completed 3-paragraph essay explaining why they should receive the scholarship

12. All applicants must participate in the financial literacy workshop outlined by program staff.

13. All scholarships and amounts are contingent upon availability of funds.
